Disabled people and austerity

Having just returned from a meeting of Labour Assembly against Austerity yesterday in the U.K. , I could not fail to notice that there was not one disabled speaker, not one one Disability organisation represented, and not one MP mentioning disabled people, and yet we have been hit by austerity 90% worse than any other group!! Why is that? Are we that worthless, THAT much surplus to requirements that no one in government gives a damn if we are deprived of support, starved, made homeless or driven to suicidal despair?! If we are fighting austerity together, why does this exclude disabled people, why are we invisible? I look forward to your reply!
